Tracking

Synchronize your reading progress with external trackers like AniList and MyAnimeList.

Novon supports two-way synchronization with popular anime/manga/novel tracking services.

Supported Services

Currently, Novon supports the following trackers:

  • AniList (Recommended)
  • MyAnimeList
  • NovelUpdates
  • Kitsu
  • Kavita (Self-hosted)

Setting up a Tracker

  1. Go to Settings > Tracking.
  2. Tap the Connect button next to the tracker you wish to use.
  3. This will launch an in-app browser window (OAuth WebView flow) requesting permission to access your tracking account.
  4. Once authorized, the status will change to Connected as [Username].
Data Privacy

Your OAuth tokens are stored securely on your device. Novon does not have a central server, so your login credentials are exchanged directly between your phone and the tracking service API. They are never sent to a third party.

Automating the Sync

Once connected, you can configure how Novon pushes data to the tracker. Expand the tracker card to see these options:

  • Auto-Sync on Chapter Read: Every time you finish reading a chapter and it marks as read, Novon silently communicates with the tracker API to update your current chapter count.
  • Update Score Automatically: If you rate a novel within Novon's library UI, it will push that score to the tracker.
  • Mark as Completed: When you read the absolute final chapter of a novel marked as "Completed", Novon will change your tracker status from "Reading" to "Completed".
  • Sync Reading Status: Pushes "Plan to Read", "Dropped", or "Reading" based on where the novel is in your Novon library categories.

Tracking Exceptions

Sometimes the title of a novel on a source website (e.g., Wuxiaworld) doesn't perfectly match the title on AniList.

In this case, open the novel in Novon, tap the Tracking icon in the header, and use the search bar to manually bind the source novel to the correct AniList entry.
