Common questions about downloading chapters.

Where are downloaded chapters stored?

Downloaded chapters are stored as raw text or HTML payloads inside your configured storage directory. By default, these are located in the downloads/ folder within your Novon storage root.

You can view or change your current storage root in Data Settings > Storage Location.

Can I export downloaded chapters as EPUB or PDF?

Novon is primarily a specialized reader rather than an export utility. While we are investigating community interest in EPUB bundling, there is currently no official support for exporting local chapters to external formats.

Downloads are stuck at pending

If your download queue is stalled, please verify the following:

  1. Active Connectivity: Ensure you have a stable network connection.
  2. Wi-Fi Constraints: Check if Wi-Fi Only Downloads is toggled on in your settings while you are using cellular data.
  3. Storage Health: Ensure your device has sufficient remaining disk space and that Novon has write permissions for your selected storage folder.
IP Bans

Rapidly downloading thousands of chapters from a single source may trigger automated security blocks (like Cloudflare challenges) on the source website. Novon automatically implements rate-limiting to minimize this risk.
